CORINTHIAN'S VISIT

Suggestions for Local Team To the Editor of the "Nortu-Cinna Dany NEWS"

Sin,—With reference to SckuTATOR'S comments on the forthcoming visit of the Corinthians soccer team, I do not think it is fair for him to say that Dich Costa should not be chosen to play for the Shanghai team owing to his "weakness" displayed in the International game last week.

It must be remembered that Costa supported in the half back line by Si and Aquino who, although e a good account of them-are young and inexperienced, ihe inevitable result that Costa himself had to bear the brunt of the track. This point seems to have been in the mind of your correspondent on Monday when he commented on the v of Robinson to create any 1 opening, which undoubted-as due to the ease with which a had him covered.

Nearly all local sports scribes are agreed that Costa is still the best civilian centre-half in Shanghai and there is no doubt that his inclusion will strengthen the team which is to oppose the Corinthians.

I also do not agree with your correspondent's suggested line-up for Shanghai, The two wing men of the Durhams team do not possess sufficient "shooting" ability and I should prefer the selection of Jim Ward and F. Foyn who are fast and capable of excellent centres and corner kicks.

My opinion of a representative team
