Great Satisfaction Is Expressed at Tokyo

Cairo, Mar. 16.

The International Olympic Committee has decided to hold the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1940. The Committee has agreed to the later date suggested by Japan because of the extreme heat at the end of August and has decided to hold the Games from September 21 to October 6.

Tokyo, Mar. 16.

The decision reached by the International Olympic Committee at its meeting to-day at Cairo whereby Japan's right to hold the 1940 Olym-pie Games was confirmed, evoked widespread satisfaction here.

Expressing sincere gratification at the decision, Mr. Takashi Goh, Chairman of the Contest Committee of the Olympic Organizing Committee, said that the choice of the latter part of September for the date of the Olympics was quite proper from the view-point of sports.

However, added Mr. Goh, he was sorry for Great Britain and America, who preferred August for the sake of their students.—Reuter.
