Manila, Mar. 15.

Andre Shelaeff, former welterweight champion of the Orient, came out of seclusion after his recent defeat here by Kid Vicente with his hands tightly bandaged and his face grim to meet reception from boxing The early tempest of conversation which followed Shelaeff's walk-out in his title bout with Kid Vicente two weeks ago has subsided to a great extent, but the Russian has lost scores of friends.

The former champion is still offering no excuses for his inexplicable behaviour, but physicians have certified that his hands are in bad shape, swollen and bruised and in dire need of rest.
