We mentioned some days ago, that an array had occurred between some pirates and mandarin gunboats on the Chekiang coast, in which one of the latter had been captured, and the Mandarin in command murdered. We added that the district commandant had left Ningpo for Taichow, with a force to act against them, and was to be folowed by Colonel Cooke's disciplined force, as soon as a steamer could be procured to act with them. Application was made to the Taotai of Shanghai, for one of the gunboats lying the Arsenal; and full chartered forthwith. purpose.
