New York, July 12.
Other radio messages from the "New York World Fair, which is bearing its five-man crew around the world in quest of the record now held by Wiley Post, give interesting details on the flight from Paris to Moscow and Omsk, The 12-ton aeroplane left Paris for Moscow on a straight-line course because Mr. Hughes was obliged to follow an itinerary mapped out for him by the Reich when he asked for permission to fly over German terri-lory. According to the set course he avoided passing over any military zones and he flew at an altitude of 10,000 feet.
In his despatches to date, Hughes does not say whether he will fly from Fairbanks, Alaska, to New York without a stop, It is particularly noted "here when he landed at Omsk today. Hughes was nearly a day in advance on Wiley Post's record for the flight. The "New York World Fair" took 43 hours 40 mínutes for the New York-Paris-
Moscow-Omsk trip, while Post on his record-setting attempt had taken 69 hours 2 minutes for the New York to Novosibirsk flight. Novosibirsk—is, however, 900 kilometers (about 600 miles) farther east than Omsk.
