The King George V trophy, awarded to the country showing the highest musketry efficiency in the Imperial Shield's competition for boys, has been won by South Africa, which thereby gained its eighth victory since the trophy was founded in 1926, South Africa's boys scored 260,541 points, which was 8,000 better than the Dominions' win in 1986. Great Britain and New Zealand were second and third respectively. Canada, Australia and India did not In connection with the annual meeting of ratepayers to be held at the Grand Theatre on April 13 the Shanghai Municipal Council has given notice of the formal resolutions to be brought forward at the meeting, these consisting of the appointment of chairman and secretary and adoption of the rules of procedure, the election of a land commissioner and four governors of the General Hospital, the passing of the 1937 Report and Accounts, and the adoption of the 1938 which includes the raising Joan not exceeding $12,000,000.
It is requested that ratepayers intending to ask questions regarding the accounts or other matters connected with these resolutions give at least 24 hours notice before the meeting. Ratepayers desirous of bringing forward addition motions are required to give notice to the Secretary of the Council before 4 p.m. oni April 5 for due publication. ae
