I wonder which of the big movie shots of 1938 will still be active in 1943, Will Robert Taylor still be public heartbeat No. 1? Will Errol Flynn still make headlines with his naughty boy behaviour in the studies? How about Bette Davis, Cary Grant, Clark Gable, Carole Lombard, Tyrone Power, Spencer Tracy, Sonja. Henie and Shirley Temple? And what about veterang Norma Shearer, William Powell, Claudette Colbert, Ronald Colman, Gatbo and Gary Cooper? How many of them, by 1943, will have drowned in the tide of the public's desire for new movie meat?
Maybe there won't be any flesh-and-blood stars at all in 1943. The current popularity of Walt Disney's family of animated lovables might swell to such a degree that there will be no market at all for live emoters.
Be kind of humiliating to"be rubbed out by a cartoon, wouldn't it?
