Peiping, Aug. 31.
For a total of five hours yesterday morning, railway traffic from Peiping to Shanhaikuan was brought to a standstill, as guerillas tore up the, track on either side of Tientsin.
At Wangchuan, half-way between Tientsin and Peiping, guerillas tore up the track, and set fire to the station, They then attacked the Japanese garrison near by, necessitating land re-inforcements and air units being sent from Peiping.
The number of guerillas now operating in East Hopel outnumbers the Japanese garrison along the railway, which is being subjected to daily attacks at various places.—Reuter,
