and Route Vallon

According to a waiter at the restaurant, the two men, both Chinese, came into the establishment, sat down at a table and ordered a meal. After a few minutes the meal was served and the men had just begun to eat it when othe: three persons, all Chinese, came in and sat at their table.

All five talked to each other and appeared to be on friendly terms, the writer said. After a few seconds, however, all five arose and walked out of the restaurant. By this time the waiter's suspicions had been aroused and he walked towards the window, through which he saw the two men shepherded into a waiting car, which was driven away quickly.

He then informed his employers of the incident and the French police were notified immediately. Upon arrival they made enquiries from people in the restaurant but could garner little evidence of any value. The five people, it appeared, were on mendly terms during the conversation and there was no sign of a struggle or of anything to suggest that the men were being taken away against their will.
