Western Hemisphere

Rio de Janeiro, June 5.

The Pan-American Conference decided yesterday to approve the resolution whereby the colonies in the Western hemisphere belonging to European powers and unable to maintain their independence should be placed under the mandate of the 21 American republics.

The author of the resolution, Senor Miguel Campa of Cuba, suggested that it be submitted for approval at the next conference of American Foreign Ministers.

Other measures adopted aim at German air lines to South America and demand that all lines in the American hemisphere be owned by citizens of American states.—Havas.
