Havine had a fair-size picture fromed, a lady was taking it home, Part of the journey had to be made by a tram, which began to fill up with rather "outsize" people. Afraid lest the glass should get broken, she raised the picture on to her lap and she therefore could neither see nor be seen; nor could she get at her bag for her fare.
Great was her embarrassment when the conductor rapped sharply on the back of the picture ahd shouted: "Anybody hiding behind there?'
Painless!
One day while was háving a wash-and-brush-up in a London dance hall (writes a correspondent) a man walked in and told the attendant he wanted to shave.
He was handed brush, soap, and safety razor, and proceeded with his shave.
After lathering up for the second. time he turned to the attendant and said several times, "lovely shave!
When he had finished he tipped the attendant and walked out, The attendant was cleaning the razor, when he turned.to me and said: "A clever bloke, that."
When I asked why, he said: "Well, it's like this; I forgot to put a blade in the ruddy razor!"
