Yes, every day we must fight to make Christ King over all the world, to make him King in our own hearts perhaps first of all. We must fight against those things which we know to be contrary to the spirit of his kingdom, against selfishness and dishonesty, against all strife and bitterness, against laziness, against all evil thoughts and words and deeds. We have real and powerful enemies, but we have many fellow soldiers, good comrades in the struggle, and we have a great leader our Lord and Master, our King. If Christ is not King over all the world today it is because we Christians have not learned "to keep rank with a perfect heart." We are more like a shuffling mob than like the mighty army we should be marching forward with sure tread and ordered ranks to victory. Then let us begin our preparation today. Let us get into step with Jesus, and "fall in" in the ranks of those who would crown Him King over all.
Then shall we come, one day, like those men in our text fit and ready, and with a perfect heart, to make Christ King over all the world.
