At the press conference yesterday a Japanese embassy spokesman again referred to the demand made by Mayor Fu Siao-en to the Shanghai Municipal Council for the return of land certificates of Chinese and others under Chinese jurisdiction here. While the matter was reported to be under the consideration. of the Consular Body here, the spokesman thought this was not a question that really concerned them.
The spokesman expressed again the desire of the Japanese authorities for a prompt solution of the question of the rendition*of the Chinese district courts in Shanghai.
"As long as these questions remain unsettled" he said, "the tendency to disrupt peace and order would continue in the concessions as well as in surrounding territories under Japan-se occupation."
