Orders in Hand

According to statistics issued by Det Norske Veritas early this year, the orders in hand at Danish yards at January 1, last totalled just under 330,000 tons, of which 142,000 tons was actually under construction. As "protected" Denmark is now technically enemy territory, no ships built in Danish yards are likely to be delivered to their owners, or, if delivered, to venture to sea, so it may be assumed that merchant shipbuilding will gradually be brought to a standstill.
