London, Sept. 15.
ILE an anxious world marked time, awaiting the outcome, Great Britain's 70-year-old Prime Minister, Mr. Neville Chamberlain, personally interviewed Herr Adolf Hitler, the Ger-Than Fuehrer, at Berchtesgaden this afternoon in a supreme effort to avert another general conflagration in Europe.
Nothing is yet known about what transpired at the meeting, for which Mr. Chamberlain made a dramatic flight by air from London, but a communique is expected to be issued some time this evening. Everything points to the British Prime Minister's spending the night in Berchtesgaden.
Shortly before the talk at Berchtesgaden began, dismay was caused in European capitals by a report from Prague that Herr Konrad Henlein, the Leader of the Sudetens, had demanded the return of Sudeten territory to Germany.
