on the Whangpoo, the Shanghai Rowing Club is now going successfully completed their spring regatta last May ahead with plans to hold an autumn regatta towards the end of October, also on the Whangpoo, although it is possible that a change of venue may be made in view of the congestion in the neighbourhood of the Public Gardens.
Coincident with the training for the autumn regatta, oarsmen have been picked to row in an interport with the Tientsin Rowing 7 Club, the Northern Port having sent down an invitation to participate in a regatta to be held at that port on October 15 and 16. "The final decision as to whether the local Rowing Club will be able to accept the offer has not been made yet, the decision hinging on several matters of importance but nevertheless a crew D has been picked and made its first outing on Wednesday.
