Large Sale of U.S. Arms Made to Mexicans

Identity of Businessmen Remains Mystery

Los Angeles, July 20.

Mystery cloaks the identity of a group of Mexican businessmen who, it was formally announced today, recently purchased $66,000 worth of war materials: cannons, hand grenades, bayonets and munitions enough to arm a whole battalion of soldiers.

Even the identity of this group's buying agents could not be learned from the local authorities.

Transport of the mak P to Mexico began yesterday. Trucks are being used. The arms and munitions would be re-sold to the Mexican Government, it was understood.

Havas.
