One kidnapper drew seven years while four others received 12 years each in the First Special District Court yesterday in connection with the abduction on July 5 of Chev Fu-chuen, 10-year old son of a ric} fermer in Pootung. It will be re called that the boy was carried away from his home late in the evening and secretly transported to the French Concession where he was kept a prisoner in a small hotel in Avenue Joffre.
Police stepped in when negotiations for obtaining a ransom were being carried out. The kidnappers notified the boy's father that his representative should pay the money to some one in front of a theatre in Avenue Edward VIL At the meeting place the Settlement police arrested some of the men.
