Paris, Oct. 28.
The majority of the rightist and centrist press here praised the strong speech made by the Premier, M. Edouard Daladier, at the Radical-Socialist Party Congress in Marseilles yesterday, although some rightist, radical and leftist papers criticized his violent attack against the Communists, "The Radical-Socialist Party Congress made an effective rupture of the Popular Front," said "Lo Journal."
"Lo Figaro" stressed that M. Daladier should be praised for his speech and emphasized that it was "the voice of the Government."
"One fact that remains," says "Lo Petit Parisien," is that "the Munich peace put an end to the twenty-year crisis."
"Lo Populaire," official organ of the Socialist Party, criticized the address. "We expected a plan of action, but. M. Daladier spoke hazily. The Premier's position shocked certain sections of the Congress and several Radical-Socialist heads disapproved of his attitude.
L. Ordre" stressed that "the anti-Communistic tone of the speech cannot hide the defects of the Munich settlement and the deficiencies of the Government's recovery plan."—Havas.
