During the course of the month, three additional premises were leased for occupation by the members of the Police Department, and 22 were vacated. The total number of premises leased now amounts to 270, of which three are occupied as Police Stations, fourteen as Schools, eight ior miscellaneous purposes and the remainder as Police quarter:
The following figures relate to the disposal of house refuse:—For raising land, 12,708 tons of house refuse and road sweepings were removed by motor trucks, and 9,123 tons by hard-carts, making a total of 21,831 tons. 16,283 tons of house refuse were taken away by contractors boats to the dumping site on the river.
