(To the Raltor of the "Nonru-Ciwa Dany News"
Sm—Your note that Senator 'Tydings, of Maryland has been announced as a candidate for the presidency, is of especial interest in view of a letter just received from a prominent American, Mr. Harry 'Curran Wilbur, Managers' Consultant, Chicag He writes that late in June Senator 'Tydings read into the "Congressional Record" the entire text of what is known as the "Declaration of Depend. fence on God and the Creed of "Americanism." This Declaration is a statement in pamphlet form, prepared by 'The Hon, Charles' Hall Davis, and signed by' business execu. tives, clergymen, lawyers, and lead-Ing men of every profession, Thous-jand of copies have been circulated, and leaders of the churches, Presb terian, Baptist, Catholic, and others, are enthusiastic over it,"
Reading it into the "Congressional Record" can be done, of course, only with Congressional approval, and thus it gives a new, clear-cut, offeial statement that the United States is nation built on Christian principles.
