Sm,—With reference to a letter dealing with Judge Li's judgment published in your correspondence columns this morning, will you allow me to explain that since the Spanish Government have withdrawn their consular bodies from this country and no Spanish Consular Court is functioning at present, Spanish subjects now come under the jurisdiction of Chinese courts, The judgment was based on an Order promulgated by the Executive Department of the Judicial Yuan. Your correspondent is advised to read the full text of the judgment for further enlightenment.
