Scathing Comment

New York, June 20.

"If American athletes go to Japan, they will be bestowing their approval on a government which has lost the right to command it," states the New York "Times" today, referring to the 1940 Olympics.

Hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions of Chinese, the paper continues, have been unarked down for death because vf what the Tokyo Government has done, and "it is hypocrisy or worse to make any gesture which conceals our natural horror and revulsion."

"We have an opportunity, the paper adds, "by refusing 1o participate in the Twelfth Olympiad to express our moral judgment."—Reuter.
