Shanghai, Sept. 18, Word has been received of the death of Mrs, R. M. Mateer in Tsing-tne on September 12 in her eightieth year.
'Mis. Mateer came to China just tly years ago as a missionary of the Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A. and had an outstanding record of service in both the medical and educa-Ylonal' Gelds, Practically hier full term of active service was spent in Weihsien, Shanlung. Since"her retirement from mission service a few years ago, she has made her home in Tsingtao.
She was one of those who first recognized the suitability of Mitis. Huk fs a summer resort and through all the years since that time has been known and beloved by those who have enjoyed that beautiful resort.
