New York, Sept. 19.
Cotton prices early advanced on fair Bombay and Liverpool cables and irade and speculative buying. Later, the market further hardened on the tightness of spots, continued good activity in textiles and reports of farmers holdings. Final quotations ranged from 2 to 11 points above the previous close.
The rubber market was a quiet trading affair today. At the close, losses ranged from 1 to 5 points down.
Wheat in Chicago was quietly steady. Reports of favourable rains induced a little liquidation, which, however, was offset by reported Russian buying. At the final bell, prices ranged from % to % cent down.
