7,000 Jews

People Expelled from Reich Now Live on Frontier

Warsaw, Dec. 25.

The desperate plight of the seven thousand Jews expelled from Germany, who for nearly two months have sheltered in barns and stables on the Polish-German frontier, is now being investigated by Mr. -Robert Briscoe, a member of the Eire Parliament, Mr. Briscoe had an interview with representatives of the newly formed Jewish Colonisation Committee of Poland, which is occupied with a plan to finance the transference of refugees overseas, It is understood that Mr, Briscoe put a proposition before the Polish Government, under which Poland is to supply a sum of money on the understanding that a further sum will be subscribed by Polish Jewry and international Jewish organisations. Polish Jews have already begun to subscribe, Tt is believed that Mr. Briscoe is also contemplating a scheme for fin-oncing a mass emigration of Jew from Poland.—Reuter.
