Senator Hence James Logan, well-known Canadian lawyer, in the famous "Gypsum Queen" case died today at the age of 70.
Senator Logan was Counsel involved im which the master and owner of the schooner was charged with defrauding the Canadian Reparations Commission of over £14,000—the sum awarded as compensation for the'
sinking of the schooner was responsible for oar ian West Indies Trade Agreement.
Born near Amherst, Nova Scotis, on school Pictou Academy which furnished the preliminary education of many who later achieved a high place in Canadiaa professorial and political life. Obtain-his law degree at Dalhousie versity, Halifax, Senator Logan hitler was admitted to the Nova bar in 1892 at the age of 23.
