Sin—Can anything be done to put stop to the scandalous noise caused by the drivers of the tram cars in the 'French Concession? In no civilised country would such an internal abuse of the public's patience bbe allowed and the manner in which the men' in charge of those cars are permitted to make use of their alarm Signals or bells is a deliberate insult to the public as much as it is nerve racking The railless cars in rue Lafayette fare as bad as their colleagues in rue clu Consular. The noise they make is Positively unbearable and the tenants of the Albert Apartments have no rest until those horrible cars. stop moving for a few hours.
Are there any means of suing the French Tram Company for damages? If so, 1, and a few" sufferers like myself, would be willing to pay the costs of such action, any of your readers are interested I should like to hear what they have to say.
