Tuesday's Closing Quotations New York, Jan. 17.

Fairly quiet and narrow conditions prevailed in the cotton market, Early easiness influenced by liquidation and selling was more than offset by covering and a good mill demand. Final quotations were from 3 to 4 points up compared with the previous close.

Prices in the rubber market early ruled lower and subsequently declined on foreign selling and an absence of interest. However, on the appearance of late buying, a partial recovery was recorded, and, at the final bell, the market closed from 5 to 12 points down.

'A narrow market was witnessed for wheat in Chicago.. Lower foreign cables and reports of precipitation in the south-west restricted trading, with most operators showing a disposition to keep tothe sidelines. Final quotations were from unchanged to of a cent down from yesterday's close. ow York Cotton New York Rubber!
