Labour Opposition

Mr. William Norton, the Laboor

Party leader, said the members of the Labour Party would oppose the Bills. The country, he. said had not been so peaceful for years.

Mr. Ruttledge, however, stated that a certain body had issued a proclarnation in December, taking over alleged powers from a certain other body and holding itself out as the Government. The Government, declared the Minister of Justice, would not tolerate such an action, which amounted to a challenge.—Reuter, German Skiers Suffer From Chilblains Tokyo, Feb. 9.

Weak from exposure to cold for two days and a night, the two German skiers who became lost in the Shiga Plateau on the Nagano and Gumma prefectural border early this week, were in bad shape: when they staggered into a charcoal burners hut on Tuesday evening, says a report reaching here from Karuizawa.

Herr Wolfgang Ulbricht, of Shanghai, escaped with a comparatively slight case of chilblains, but\Herr E. Weskott, his companion from Kobe, is barely able to walk from swollen feet and arms. The two 25-year old Germans, both employees of "Defag," were to leave for Tokyo today. Physicians said they would recover.—Domei.
