Jspanese forces entered Nanning at 110 o'clock this afternoon and completely occupied the city, an important. Chinese military and supply base, ten minutes later.
In capturing the city, Japanese forces broke through several strong Chinese defence lines in front of the city, a communique issued by the headquarters of the Japanese Ex-Peditionary Force to South China announced.
Stiff resistance was offered by the Chinese defence, lines, it was stated. After breaking through the Chinese es, Japanese forces reached the city wall of Nanning and occupied one corner of the city. Complete occupation followed a short time later, the communique said.
