GLANCING through a recent book on King Solomon we were interested to note that just one of the little presents that he sent to the Queen of Sheba as some plight token of his regard consisted of 1,000 milk-white steers, 5,000 oxen, 2000 goats, and 1,000 Nubian slaves, says Lane-Norcott in the "Daily Mail."

These animals, which I am informed are your property, have completely disorganized the bus and tram services and are a grave source of danger and annoyance to ratepayers.

There are also 1000 Nubian slaves camping in the Recreation Ground, who state that they belong to you. If this is correct, kindly remove them at once, as camping in the Recreation Ground is strictly prohibited by our by-laws. Faithfully yours, Jos Tuns, (Town Clerk)
