The question of grounds is still a big problem. The Canidrome will be used for greyhound racing nearly every Saturday and Sunday afternoon throughout the winter and will only be available on Sunday mornings. As that is the venue where it is possible to charge for admission, most of the big games of the season will probably be decided on Sunday mornings.
There is still some doubt as to the possibility of making use of the grounds at Hongkew Park, as teams will experience difficulty in getting transport. Should Hongkew Park be unavailable, the number of grounds on which matches may be played will be severely limited—four on the Race Course and one at Kiaochow Park and of course the Canidrome ground on Sunday mornings.
The Lido team have secured the use of the Shanghai American School ground for practice and it is hoped to play many of the matches there, if arrangements can be made.
Meanwhile, the Association is making every effort to get hold of as many grounds as possible in order to allow the First Division to go through a two-round schedule, according to decisions made yesterday. The Second and Third Divisions will have one round of fixtures only, as was the case last year.
The Shanghai Football Club and Three Cultures, unable to get organized this season, remain as assors of the Association.
