Washington, Dec. 5.
The possibility of the recall of the American Ambassador from Moscow, Mr. Lawrence Steinhardt, or the complete severance of relations between Russia and the United States appeared remote last night, Authorities here indicated last Well informed circles here expect night that the Administration feels the British delegation to the meeung of the League Council on December 9 will be headed by Mr. R. A. Butler, Under-Secreiary of Foreign Affairs.
Economic conversations due to be opened shortly between Britain and Soviet Russia may be cancelled it is believed.
Well-informed quarters here declare it will be dificult for the Council to do more than condemn Soviet Russia's aggression against Finland, and even such a resolution may prove embarrassing for certain neutral states under present circumstances.
It is understood that Finland will be represented at the meeting by M. itudoiph Holsti.
Political quarters here are much interested by the suggestion made by Argentina that Soviet Russia be expelled from the League of Nations, The proposal is favoured but is expected to meet with some difficulties.—Havas.
