(Continued from page 5) viewpoint, and this has also resulted in fears that the German claims will be still more important on October 1.

German Memorandum Discussed It was the latest German memmorandum on the Czech question that formed the subject of deliberations at yesterday afternoon's meeting. Havas learns from a Conservative source that the new German demands revealed by Mr. Chamberlain greatly surpass early indications on Herr Hitlers final conversation with Mr. Chamberlain.

The Reich is not satisfied with the annexation of only those -territories with a population 75 per cent German, but also claims certain strategically important regions inhabited solely by Czechs, The Reich demands that these territories be evacuated immediately by the police and that all Czech offices should be anded over to Germany's authorities before October 1. Exchanges of population will then take place only at a later date.

It is further learnt that Herr Hitlers memorandum demands the appointment of an international committee whose task it would be, among other things, to see. that the Czechs did not destroy bridges, railways and factories before transferring them to the Reich.

Havas' Conservative informant understands that Herr Hitler's communication does not demand demobilization, nor does it refer to the Hungarian and Polish. minority claims, but it does map out areas to be annexed by Germany in such a way that the Czechs would find it impossible to defend the districts inhabited by the Hungarian and Polish minorities.
