Berlin, Mar. 22.
Germany's "Spring Campaign" is now over, political observers here believe.
Reuter understands that Herr Joachim von Ribbentrop, the German Foreign Minister, and other leading figures, are planning to take a holiday until just before Herr Hitler's birthday, which falls on April 20.
Offcial circles in Berlin are awaiting with great interest the promised statement of Mr. Neville Chamberlain, the Prime Minister, regarding Memel. It is stated here that Sir Samuel Hoare's remark in the House of Commons, that Lithuania appeared to have yielded to a demand amounting to an ultimatum, is difficult to reconcile with a German News Agency report from Kaunas that Britain and France, when consulted regarding Lithuania, declared that they would do nothing in the matter if Lithuania accepted the German demands.—Reuter.
