Oppose Cabinet

Dissatisfaction Expressed Over China Policy; War Minister to See Premier

Tokyo, Dec. 12.

Adding to the Government's troubles, the army, which has hitherto positively supported the Abe Cabinet in connection with the settlement of the China Incident and internal policies, is now becoming concerned and dissatisfied with the Cabinet's evasive attitude regarding the establishment of a Trade Ministry and also the abolition of an ordinance guaranteeing the status of civil officials.

According to the "Miyako Shimbun," independent daily, the army fears the Cabinet is showing "increasing lack of ability" to settle various vital domestic issues and the China Incident and regulate complex issues with third Powers.

Therefore, the "Miyako" forecasts, the War Minister, General Shunroku Hata, is likely to make "strong representations to the Cabinet."

General Hata is expected to urge the adoption of a more positive attitude in pursuit of the policies to which the Cabinet is committed, the paper adds.—Reuter.
