Ankara, Nov, 25.
Turkey remains unimpressed by Hitler's latest diplomatic moves which have secured German afd Italian overlordship in Europe by countries which are not able to make their own decision, Bulgaria's attitude is not yet clear but reports reaching Ankara suggest that King Boris did not commit at last week end's conversa-th Hitler at Berchtesgaden.
It is said that Hitler pointed out the value of an alliance with Germany in the present situation which gave Bulgaria an opportunity of realizing her territorial claims on Greece, King Boris was understood to have replied that a country ab small as Bulgaria could sot after to take part in the struggles betwee the great powers. a The best opinion in Ankara is that Yugo-Slavia will hold out against Axis pressure, but, as it is difficult to foresee the probable developments of the international situation, is taking no risks, Apart from martial law in the Straits zone: and other military measures in prospect with the object of further increasing their preparedness, a large army hês been mobilized and its numbers afe steadily increasing.
Hope is expressed here that these precautions will discourage the Axis powers from presenting Turkey with a short-term ultimatum and patticularly that it will have a sobering effect on Bulgaria:
'Whether or not this hope will be realized these countries cannot have any doubts as to Turkey's determin' tion to be ready for all eventualities, Reuter.
