The crew of 25 of the Hamburg steamer Adolf Leonardt, which was behind the car in which Mr. Zung was kidnapped. No alarm was raised.
The crime was first reported to officials of the Editors' Union, which has offices in the Chung Wai Bank Building, Avenue Edward VII and Rue de la Porte clu Nord, the police vere informed. It was not until midnight, however, that the police at Central Station were notified. The witness gave detectives the licence number of the car in which Mr. Zung was abducted.
Mr. Zung's age is given as about 37. He is a native of Ningpo and well known in Chinese journalistic circles as a newspaper-man and secretary.
