"Cedarcrest" is Hostess To CarolgSinging Guests A new departure marked the annual Christmas tea party of the International Branch of the Y.W.C.A. Heretofore it has taken place at Headquarters, 999 Bubbling Well Road, but this year the scene of action was "Cedarcrest," the pleasant hotel for girls at 66 Great Western Road. Tea was served to between 50 and 60 guests. The old American Christmas custom, "the hanging of the green," in which the assembled company joins in decorating room and table with the yuletide evergreens, was rather curtailed thi year owing to the general difficulty of obtaining holly, laurels, ete, in sufficient quantities, However, enough was forthcoming to make things look cheery and pretty.
A feature of the party, without which it would not be itself, was the "Christmas Reading" by Mrs, L. C. Hylbert, chairman of the Y.W.CA. International Branch. Mrs.
Hylbert has taken this part in the Christmas festivities for so many years that it has now become quite an institution, Carols sung in chorus to a piano accompaniment sise did much to awaken the spirit of Christmas in the guests,
