Disarmament Plan Will be Presented to House London, Oct. 30.
According to authorized circles here, Mr. Neville Chamberlain will make a new- effort to obtain world peace before taking any decision regarding the creation of a Ministry of Supplies and engaging the country in a policy of intensive rearmament, which would have dangerous consequences on Britain's economic life.
According to the "Sunday Chronicle," the Prime Minister, on Tuesday, will outline before Parliament a plan to reach an agreement on disarmament with other powers. The enforcement of this plan would allow the Treasury to economize £1,000,000,000 which would otherwise have gone into rearmament.
The Prime Minister will show that the elaboration of such a rearmament programme could be avoided by engaging into negotiations with Germany and by the enforcement of the Anglo-Italian agreement.
The "Sunday Express" asserted that Sir Nevile Henderson, the British Ambassador to Germany, will, on his forthcoming return to Berlin, take with him a project on European peace, including the pacification efforts being considered by Mr. Chamberlain and referring to all possible causes of conflict—Havas.
