Fourth Marines Church

One of the finest masterpieces in trio was heard at the concert at the Fourth Marines Church services yesterday morning. As their specialty number, Stf-Sgt. Stuart, Corporal tt Lee, and Pfc. Hooker played the number, "Soloette" by Briegle, and it was the finest received as yet by the audience. In conducting the morning concert, the Fourth U.S. Marines Band under the direction of Bandmaster L. E. Giffin, played as their opening number, the March "Gardes Clu Corps" by Hall, followed by the Overture, "Raymond" (The Queen's Secret) by Thomas. As their last selection of the morning, the Suite "Atlantis" (The Lost Continent) by Safranek was heard, This programme concluded with the Marines Hymn and The American National Anthem.

In conducting the morning worship, Chaplain R. R. Marken preached on the theme, "The Funeral of 1939." The services opened with the Prelude "Our God And Father" by Bam-bridge, and for the Otlertory, artha" (The Andante) by Von Flotow. The clarinet quartette rendition of the composition "By The Brook" by Giffin was heard in the Services, ment that has been offered to Shanghai cinema fans in the past six months.

A cartoon and a short comedy precede the main production and while they are good, they are forgotten long before the evening is over. A "must" picture if there ever was one—Ro.
