Man's Passion Against Women's Spectacles

Tears Them Off in Street

Promiscuously Munich, May 9.

Intense public interest has been aroused here in the acts of a queer law-breaker, apprehended only today, who made practice of tearing spectacles from the faces of yemen on the streets and then trampling the glasses under foot or laying them on the street-car tracks to be crushed.

For many months the police have been trying to lay the queer culprit by the heels, but he always made his forays at night and always in a different part of the city.

He turns out to be a man of about 40 years of age in regular and remunerative employment, who never in his life stole anything but women's spectacles.

Admitting his guilt without any apparent shame, he boasted of the large number of women and girls whom he had relieved of their spectacles, and declared that his sole aim had been to destroy articles which had been stolen.

The Court has ordered a medical examination in the hope of solving this strange—crimine-psychological enigma.—Trans-Ocean.
