Denied in Berlin

Berlin, May 10.

Reports of alleged ' conciliatory negotiations between the Soviet Union and Nazi Germany were denied last night both by the Ger-Tian Government spokesman and authoritative Russian quarters in Berlin, The German spokesman said the reports were "unqualified nonsense" and Russian quarters regarded the Reports as "childish."

Earlier reports said indications were growing that Russia was seeking a friendship agreement with Germany, Poland and other neighbouring states.

A source close to the German Government was said to have stated: "Rapprochement between Soviet Russia and Nazi Germany is out of the question. However, rapproachement between a Nationalist Russia and Nazi Germany has always been a possibility."

He was believed to have referred to the growing Nazi conviction that Russia has veered from rampant Bolshevism to a closer ai tion of the National Socialist State.—United Press.
