Japanese Take Over

The Japanese then took command with a vengeance and penned the Club in their own half completely. Five minutes later Matsuura made a 30 yard run to score under the posts and Hara again made a good kick. Yoshimura scored another try before the interval for Hara again to convert to place the Collegians 18 points to the good.

The second half was a rout. There is no other word for it. Within five minutes Akabori went over, while later Ikeda repeated the trick after a nice movement among the backs.

Other points came with regularity from Uchiyama, Ikeda, Ishida, Akabori and Hara and with the last named converting two of the tries the final score added up to the nam-moth total of 43. Try as they might the Club players could @o not the slightest thing against a far better lo and they retired well beaten.
