Certain forms of publicity, however, we may well leave to the Ge mans. A writer in the "Daily Mail' gave a brief account of the torrent of abuse of Great Britain which pours daily from the three principal Nazi papers, the "Volkischer Beobachter," "Angriff" and "National Zeitung. The writer kept a list for some weeks of the epithets habitually applied to British statesmen. Some were unprintable, Of the rest the following are the favourite:
Criminals, liars, assassins, arrogants, blackmailers, imwpudents, murderers, rascals, blood-thirsty cowards, brutal exploiters, low-minded ruffians.
Here, too, is some comment from the "Frankfurter Zeitung" once, one recalls, a paper of high standing England, the world enemy No. 1, is a country of blasphemous liars and murderers Whose greedy, bloody hand Stretches across the world instigating evil everywhere, "It is this evil hand which is the cause of all Germany's troubles today" ("mighty" as is "our glorious fourth Bet "The British produced the psychosis resulting in a bloody intoxication against the Germans.
It is difficult to believe that anyone with a shred of self-respect can be so lost to all sense of dignity as to write like that.
Text read from the printed page and cleaned; old type leaves the occasional error.
