Londbn, Feb. 167 Asked in the House of Commons last night for an assurance that the Government would not assent to the suggestions made to abandon those principles which led them to denounce the bombing of civil populations in Spain and elsewhere, and embark upon such a policy itself, Mr. Neville Chamberlain, Prime Minister, said that he was unaware of the suggestions referred to. He added that the policy of the Government was fully stated by him on September 14.
Whatever might be the lengths that others might go to, he had said on this occasion, the British Government would never resort to deliberate attacks on women, children and other civilians for purposes of terrorism.—Reuter.
