Tokyo, Feb. 17.

A proposal that the Japanese Government extend financial aid to American missionaries in China would be given "due consideration and full study," Mr. Hachiro Arita, Foreign Minister declared in the House of Representatives yesterday.

The proposal was voiced by Mr. Hajime Hoshi, a member of the Reformist faction of the Seiyukai Party, who suggested that the Foreign Office present a bill asking for an appropriation of Y.10,000,000 to assist American missionaries.

He urged the Government to undertake cultural work in China in cooperation with American missionaries. Ne pointed out that cultural activities sponsored by the Foreign Office were intended mainly to exalt Oriental philosophy and science.
