Japan Sanction Opposed

Washington, Jan. 5.

Any attempt by the United States to use its economic power against Jepan in the Far East as an aggressor nation would be "totally inconsistent" with the American "good neighbour" policy in Latin America, Senator Robert Reynolds, Democrat of North Carolina and member of the powerful Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said today.

Senator Reynolds said any attempt to punish aggressor nations with economic or financial sanctions would involve the United States in possible wars with Italy, Germany and Japan. Strictly speaking, he said, such action also might involve the United States im war with the Soviet Union "since Russia is an aggressor motion in seeking to expand her political philosophy throughout the world."
