In another eight-round contest Kella Usefovitch was beaten on points by Joe Clara in what was about the poorest event of the evening. Neither mixed it and if the referee had thrown them both out of the ring, the crowd would probably have been quite pleased Lighter by seven pounds, Gert Eng started the event in a manner that was quite unexpected. Csanadi rushed out of his corner tó the middle, shook hands, and scenting a kill, went afler his opponent with fists and arms flying. But it was the Marine who got the worst of the initial round, Eng fighting back to good effect and giving much more than he received from a rather bewildered "Muscles" to take the round handily The next three rounds went by good margins, on the attack, he hamm: way at Engs head and body with hammer blows. This naturally weakened the Swede considerably and Private Chezemission of the Russian Regiment fully confirmed his previous victory over Nicky Neuklis of the Fourth Marines, by handing the latter a severe lacing in the eight ound special event. Had the fight lasted another round there is not the in the fourth round, the latter was breathing heavily. In the fifth, however, some damaging right overarm blows opened Csanadi's left eye, but the Marine, full of fight came back with both hands and the former amateur was in bad shape at the end of the round, The remainder of the fight consisted of both fighters punching each other around the ring in a most vicious manner, with, however, the American, getting by far the better of matters, with the exception of the eighth and ninth frames, which went to Eng very narrowly
